Dear Ones,
We had a bit of a shakeup last night. Mary Mallette was rushed to Piedmont due to heart issues. Good news, first. She's stable and resting in the ICU after a transvenous pacemaker (temporary) was placed emergently due to VERY low heart rate and blood pressure.
Kevin and MM had finished supper, were watching TV when she began to have trouble. Kevin responded immediately, called 911, and the EMTs were at their house within minutes. Really, they were literally in front of their neighborhood. They were serious and kind, and by the time I arrived (I was in town staying at our condo in Fairlawn Villas), they were taking care of business.
I called Ron; he was a calming voice and kept us informed of what was happening. Modern medicine is a miracle, and we are BLESSED, I mean, BLESSED, by first responders and health care workers who take care of our community.
BLESSED🙏🙏🙏
Before the two EMTs took her to the ambulance and were working on her, Mary Mallette lifted her head and said, ”I love you both very much.”
These two sweet men stopped for just a second, and while they hesitated, I leaned between them so I could see MM and clarified for them and to sister, ”You were talking to Kevin and me, right?” The EMTs laughed with me, and Mary Mallette gave the thumbs-up sign and smiled weakly, but she smiled!
That's our girl. Lover and fighter extraordinaire❤️
She will be at Piedmont for a few days. They must decide what exactly happened and if she will need a permanent pacemaker. Drs. Shah and Maher were and are wonderful, and we are so grateful🙏
Please keep our beloved, Mary Mallette, close to your hearts and know, as always, how much each of you mean to her❤️❤️❤️
Love, love, love
Meg
